Over the years, the Virginia Literacy Foundation has overseen projects that promote promising practices in family literacy, capacity building for literacy programs, program improvement, and database management. These partnerships often involve entire regions of the state, as with the 2003-2005 Program Improvement initiative with six literacy organizations in Northern Virginia, or within a specific community, such as Richmond’s Northside. The recently completed QuAL-D project (2006-2008) resulted in a database for seventeen literacy organizations across the state and set policies and standards that helped programs move to the next level of program management using accurate data. The VLF's current projects include NoRF and the VLLC Conference.
