Program Resources
In addition to the matching grants, the Virginia Literacy Foundation provides technical support and training that are relevant to Virginia’s adult literacy programs through its partnership with the Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center. Responding to nonprofit program needs and requests, the Literacy Specialist provides resources, links, networking opportunities, and technical advice to staff and volunteers of nonprofit adult literacy organizations. The VLF also supports two yearly conferences, the Literacy Fair in Keysville and the Virginia Literacy Leadership Conference in central Virginia, which offer workshops targeting tutors, volunteers, and staff of community-based organizations. Recent projects include two program improvement initiatives and the development of a database (QuAL-D) that provides programs with the means to enter accurate data and use the information for program management and improvement.
